Deborah D. Chew, O.D.

Dr. Deborah Chew was born in San Francisco and grew up in Oakland. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree, as well her Doctorate of Optometry, from U.C. Berkeley. After graduating with honors, she served as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University Of California School Of Optometry for 5 years before settling down and starting a family. She also worked for a prominent eye surgeon in the area where she provided the pre- and post operative care of cataract and refractive surgery patients and fitted specialized contact lenses for hard- to- fit eyes. Dr. Chew enjoys seeing all types of patients but specializes in contact lenses. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and served on the board of directors for the Alameda-Contra Costa Optometric Society and the Bay Area Optometric Association for 7 years. Dr. Chew is married to Orson Leong, a dentist who also practices in Fremont, and has 2 teenage sons. In her spare time Dr. Chew likes to travel, cook, play golf, and shop.


Brian Gin, O.D.

Dr. Brian Gin grew up in Fremont, California and graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 1998. He completed his bachelor's degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego in 2002. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Brian is the son of senior partner, Dr. Victor Gin, and has been practicing with Fremont Optometric Group since he graduated. He currently lives in Redwood City and is married to his optometry classmate, Dr. Sara Chiu. He enjoys spending time with his wife and taking his puppy to the dog park.

Clifford Leong, O.D.


Dr. Clifford Leong was born and raised in the San Francisco Peninsula. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego and his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City.

Upon graduation from optometry school, he completed a post-graduate research fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the State University of New York College of Optometry where he worked on publishing a paper on orthokeratology, instructed contact lens labs for optometry students and gave lectures on specialty contact lenses. He also worked for a prominent eye surgeon in New York where he provided pre and post operative care for refractive surgery patients and fitted specialized contact lenses for hard-to-fit eyes.

In his free time, Dr. Leong likes to cook, travel, play basketball, snowboard and cheer on the Giants, 49ers and Warriors.



Eugene Tsujimoto, O.D.

Dr. Eugene Tsujimoto was born in Sacramento, California. He received his degree in Optometry from U.C. Berkeley’s School of Optometry and served as a post graduate Associate Clinical Professor. After opening his Fremont practice in 1965, he continued to serve as Associate Clinical Professor at U.C. Berkeley for over twenty years. He served on the Alameda-Contra Costa County Optometric Board resulting in the Young OD of the year award. His activities included Lions Club International, Rubicon for abused and battered children, and the YMCA. He was a vision consultant for the Department of Motor Vehicles, and has published in the American Journal of Optometry. He has been a Fremont resident for over 46 years with his wife, Aileen, and has two grown children. In his free time, Dr. Tsujimoto enjoys hiking, origami, exercising, reading, meditating, and traveling.


Victor Gin, O.D.

Dr. Victor Gin is a California native and grew up in the Salinas Valley. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Optometry where he met his wife, Dr. Frances S. Gin. Dr. Gin has been an active community member over the last 30 years through various clubs and organizations including posts as the Director at Large for the Alameda-Contra Costa County Optometric Society and the South Bay Chinese Club President. He and his wife have two grown sons: Brian is also a Cal Optometry grad and is currently an associate doctor at the office, while Chris is an Officer in the U.S. Army. Dr. Gin enjoys his spare time fishing, boating, and traveling with the family.


Cindy Sakihara, O.D.

Cindy Sakihara has been an associate of Fremont Optometric Group since 1993. She is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry and has a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She published a paper for the American Academy of Optometry on the “Use of Celluvisc as a Gonioscopic Fluid” and is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Asian American Optometric Society. Dr. Sakihara enjoys seeing patients of all ages and fits contact lenses, does some vision therapy and fits low vision aids in some cases. She is married and has 2 boys. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, volunteer work and park play with her children.



Marc Dea, O.D.

Marc Dea graduated from the University of California School of Optometry in 1999. He also has a B.S. in biological sciences from the University of California at Davis. Upon graduation from optometry school, he completed a post-graduate teaching fellowship. He has worked at the Fremont Optometric Group since 1999. He currently lives in El Cerrito with his fiance. In his sparetime, he enjoys sports and movies.
